Dr Iain was born in Australia and grew up in the Darling Ranges, just outside Perth, where he met his wife, Caroline. Together they have three children, Melanie, Clay and Jacquie.

Dr Iain started out his career as a firefighter with the Western Australian Fire and Rescue Service. After suffering a lower back disc injury in his early 20's, Dr Iain was told that he needed surgery and that his condition would most likely end his fire and rescue career.

"These were trying times that I remember well," says Dr Iain. "The future looked bleak, with a young family and an uncertain outlook, I was prepared to do anything. After trying the usual medical option of drugs and physiotherapy which failed to stop me from getting progressively worse, I staggered into the office of Dr. David B. Lehenbauer - Chiropractor."

"I remember thinking that at last I was in the right place. This doctor's approach to health was unlike any I had ever been exposed to before. He was interested in finding cause and not just treating effects. He taught me that the body heals from within and that physicians don't heal, they can only remove that which is interfering with the body's ability to heal itself. His enthusiasm and passion for what he did was nothing short of inspirational."

"Three months later I returned to active service without having surgery and things were looking up. The impact that chiropractic had on my life was undeniable and with Dr Lehenbauer's encouragement I embarked on an educational journey that eventually took me to "The Fountainhead" of the chiropractic profession - Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport, Iowa, USA. I am a firm believer that knowledge - like water - is purest at its source, and as such, I was determined to earn my Doctor of Chiropractic Degree where it all began - Palmer College."

In November of 2000 Dr Iain and his family moved to England and the following January opened Telford Chiropractic in Muxton, Shropshire. In 2002 Telford Chiropractic relocated to larger premises in Newport, Shropshire and in August 2004 changed its name to Newport Chiropractic.

At Palmer College, Dr Iain received the following awards:

  • Graduated Summa Cum Laude (Highest Honours)
  • Vogt Leadership Society Scholar
  • Presidential Scholar
  • International Academic Scholarship Recipient
  • Induction into Pi Tau Delta Honour Society
  • Service award to the Clinic Department
  • Service award to the Diagnosis Department
Dr Iain is fully certified with the US National Board of Chiropractic Examiners holding:
