How Much Care Will I Need?

Your Chiropractor will recommend a specific course of care tailored to meet your individual spinal healthcare needs. Typically, you will be asked to come more frequently during the first few weeks but as your spinal health improves, the frequency of your visits will be adjusted accordingly.

How long you choose to benefit from chiropractic care is entirely dependent on your health care goals. In this clinic we offer three levels of care.
Initial intensive or symptomatic care

  1. Initial Intensive or Symptomatic Care
  2. Reconstructive or Rehabilitative Care
  3. Ongoing Wellness Care

Optimum health is a reflection of 100% function. On a daily basis our bodies are exposed to physical, chemical and emotional stress, the cumulative effects of which can fatigue the nervous system, weakening our body and its ability to function. If this process is allowed to continue, we eventually reach a state of maximum adaptation and minimum tolerance. It is at this point that we become symptomatic and usually consult a doctor because we feel unwell or in pain.

Conventional healthcare typically focuses on symptoms, so its objective is to help heal the body to a point where we “feel better”. Being a "Wellness Clinic" we look at things a little differently in that we are interested in you getting the best out of life.

Restoring normal function, along with strengthening the body, increases vitality and your tolerance to the physical, chemical and emotional stresses you face daily in your environment. This is known as “Reconstructive care”. Its aim is to reduce the likelihood of relapse and to improve your overall function and health.

Just like a car, our bodies benefit from regular attention in order to attain peak performance. We refer to this concept as "Wellness Care". Keeping in good alignment and staying "tuned up" just makes sense as being healthy from the inside makes us more resistant to what life has to throw at us. With a clear mind and a healthy body we are now in a position to live life to our full potential.

- Rudolph Virchow (1821-1902) Founder of Cellular Pathology

In order to move with optimum balance and coordination, to properly digest our food, or even to think clearly, we require a nervous system without interference.

Chiropractic is based on the understanding that the nervous system coordinates and controls all bodily function. Distortions in the framework of the body - in particular those complex structures of the spine – can be observed to interfere with normal nerve function, ultimately altering the body’s ability to self regulate and heal. The chiropractic adjustment aims to remove this interference to the nervous system, promote better immune balance, performance and overall health.

"Nature needs no help, just no interference."

- - Dr BJ Palmer, DC

Chiropractic "Wellness Checks" are an extension of your care to-date. By extending your years of strength and wellness, you can accomplish those things you wish to. This is a proactive approach to health. People who chose chiropractic do so to reduce the effects of ageing and to avoid becoming customers of the “sickness business”.

“Wellness is the next natural step forward in our destiny and in the advancement of humankind."

- - Paul Zane Pilzer, 'The Wellness Revolution'
